Purdue Readers React Survey Results – Which Position Does Purdue Men’s Basketball Need to Focus on in the Transfer Portal?
Plus, will Purdue return to the NCAA Tournament next season?
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA - MARCH 28: Daniel Jacobsen #12 of the Purdue Boilermakers and Motiejus Krivas #13 of the Arizona Wildcats battle for the ball during the second half of a game in the Elite Eight of the 2026 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at SAP Center on March 28, 2026 in San Jose, California. This week we are once again focused on the men’s basketball program as we look ahead to next season. The transfer portal is open and I wanted to know which position Purdue should focus on as they look to shore up next season’s roster. It’s the nature of the business these days with huge roster turnover and additions to teams every year.
Next, with the NCAA Tournament now done and Purdue advancing to the Elite Eight I wanted to see if you all had faith in this team returning to the NCAA Tournament. Our friends at FanDuel list Purdue as +5000 to win the whole thing next year so I would assume that means they are going to have a good chance of making it to the Big Dance. All that preamble done, let’s take a look at the results!
Purdue fans apparently believe the 5 and the 4 are the biggest positions of need (no pun intended there just a happy accident as Bob Ross would say) as those two positions combined for 81% of the responses. Much of this will depend on if Oscar Cluff can return for one more year. However, there are plenty of names floating around that Purdue will I’m sure at least talk to.
