Kentucky WBB losing last year's top recruit to the transfer portal
The Kentucky Wildcats women's basketball team will be losing their top recruit from last season to the transfer portal.
Kenny Brooks and the Kentucky Wildcats women's basketball team are set to have a very talented roster next season. All-SEC center Clara Strack will team up with three McDonald's All-American recruits and hopefully a few other veterans. However, one player they won't have is Kaelyn Carroll .
Carroll was a top 40 player in the 2025 recruiting class, and chose Kentucky over offers from schools like Ohio State, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The 6'2" forward was a big recruiting win for Brooks, and she expected to make an impact right away. Unfortunately for Carroll, Brooks had a veteran squad full of seniors who dominated the minutes throughout the season.
She averaged under 12 minutes per game, and posted 3. 4 points and 2. 2 rebounds per contest.
She is a talented player who can shoot the ball well from outside as well as fight for rebounds. Brooks would likely have loved to keep her, but it seems she wants to get a fresh start somewhere else. We wish her the best of luck wherever she ends up.
