Overall, he is ranked as the 32nd-best linebacker and 12th-best overall prospect in Oklahoma for the 2027 class. The Wildcats beat out a listed offer from his home state Oklahoma Sooners, which is always a difficult proposition. In addition to the Oklahoma offer, McComb was receiving interest from respectable Big 12 schools Baylor and Oklahoma State.
