Eagles make move that heats back up A.J. Brown trade rumors
The Eagles agreeing to trade for Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks has many convinced A.J. Brown is leaving Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Eagles are adding more help to their wide receivers room ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles are sending a 2026 fifth-round draft pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks. Philly has now added Wicks, Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore to their wide receivers room this offseason.
This latest move only amplified the ongoing discussions surrounding A. J. Brown's future with the Eagles.
The three-time All-Pro wide receiver could be traded after June 1, when the Eagles would avoid a $40 million dead cap hit. So far, the New England Patriots have been pinned as the likeliest landing destination for Brown . Schefter commented on Brown's status on Friday.
"AJ Brown’s future in Philadelphia remains a topic of conversation, and in the meantime, the Eagles add another WR in Dontayvion Wicks from Green Bay," Schefter posted on X. "The belief remains that, if an AJ Brown trade were to happen, it would likely occur after June 1, when the cap burden would be more manageable for the Eagles.
