•Yahoo Sports

Iowa football added their name to the hat for a legacy 2028 offensive lineman on Thursday.

While all of the attention is currently on Iowa 's 2027 recruiting class, that doesn't mean they're not thinking about future classes. The Hawkeyes have a bevy of offers out for players in the 2028 recruiting class right now, and they added one more name to that list on Thursday. And they might get some extra help from inside the room to help land this one.

On Thursday, 2028 offensive lineman Jace Montgomery announced that after a recent conversation with offensive line coach George Barnett, he's received an offer from Iowa . After a great conversation with @CoachBarnett_OL , I am blessed to receive an offer from The University of Iowa. Go Hawks!!!

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound lineman has six offers at the moment: Iowa, Vanderbilt, Bowling Green, Kent State, Liberty, and Miami (Ohio). He's also the son of former Iowa defensive lineman Jerry Montgomery, the younger brother of Iowa senior linebacker Jayden Montgomery and the younger brother of Tevyn Montgomery, who serves as a student assistant working with Iowa's running backs. Jayden started seven games for the Hawkeyes in 2025, posting 44 total tackles, two passes defended, and a tackle for loss.
