However, the teams discussed in this article will have another date in mind: the May 5 NHL draft lottery, which is less than a month away. For some of these teams in the bottom 10 of the NHL standings, this could be the first time in quite a while that they make a top-10 selection at the draft. Here are the current draft lottery odds, and the last time each team had a top-10 pick for the NHL draft.

1. Vancouver Canucks, 25. 5 Percent The Vancouver Canucks have secured the best odds for the draft lottery when they officially finished last place earlier in the month.

The last time the Canucks drafted in the top 10 was in 2019. With the 10th pick, they selected right winger Vasily Podkolzin. He’s played 298 NHL games, recording 45 goals and 96 points, and has spent the past two seasons with the Edmonton Oilers .
