The Trojans are currently on their first losing streak of the season. This weekend, they will look to get back on track against Iowa

Last weekend, USC baseball headed across town to Westwood for a massive three-game series with rival UCLA . Unfortunately, the series did not go particularly well for the Trojans, with the Bruins sweeping all three games . Following the series, USC dropped in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll .

After coming in at No. 8 last week, the Trojans fell two spots to No. 10.

On Tuesday, USC looked to get back on track with a road matchup at UC Santa Barbara. Instead, however, the Trojans dropped their fourth game in a row, with the offense struggling in a 5-1 road loss. After opening the 2026 season 27-3, the Trojans have now lost four games in a row—meaning that they have suffered more losses in the past week than they did the entire season prior.

This marks the first struggling stretch of the season for Andy Stankiewicz’s team, who for the first six weeks of the year genuinely looked like one of the best teams in the country. The good news for the Trojans is that they still have plenty of opportunities to get back on track. The first of such comes this weekend, when USC will return to Dedeaux Field for a three-game series against Iowa.
