Ethan Fang was the low amateur in the Masters field after the first round, but putting woes put him beyond the cutline for the weekend.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ethan Fang summed up his first Masters Tournament experience in six words. โ€œI gave it all I had,โ€ the 20-year-old amateur said.

Fang, the reigning Amateur champion, carded a Thursday 74 โ€” the lowest of any of the six non-professional players. On Friday, however, Fang struggled on the greens, including a three-putt bogey from four feet at No. 2.

โ€œThat's not a great way to start your round,โ€ Fang said. When asked of his overall experience of the week, Fang said, โ€œIf you told me 10 years ago I would be playing in the Masters at 20 years old, I wouldn't believe you at all.

โ€ Now, Fang will return to Stillwater to rejoin his Oklahoma State teammates. โ€œI'm not sure if I'm excited to go back to playing 36 (holes) and carrying (the bag) myself,โ€ Fang laughed.
