It was a big moment for Mensik, but he struggled to carry that momentum into the ATP Tour events at the Sunshine Double. He managed just two wins across both tournaments, bowing out in the round of 32 in both Indian Wells and Miami.

Mensik had already pulled out of the Monte-Carlo Masters, and now there’s been another notable absence added to his schedule. The 18-year-old also missed his country’s Davis Cup qualifier against Israel. He confirmed via social media that he withdrew due to injury.

Czech fans are hoping Mensik can return from injury soon. At just 18 years old, he has a bright future ahead and plenty of time to make an impact on tour if he stays healthy.
