They've already clinched their first appearance in the playoffs since 2011 after 14 consecutive years of missing out. That won't change the fact that when the offseason arrives, the Sabres will have some work to do. Alex Tuch is the popular name in this sphere -- can they re-sign him?

But the latest concern isn't about Tuch at all. Rather, in a new article on Friday, Daily Faceoff's Anthony Di Marco brings up Bowen Byram, the defenseman. Di Marco thinks Byram has a lot of logic as being a trade candidate over the summer.

"The Buffalo Sabres are surging right now, but defenseman Bowen Byram may still ultimately want a new destination in the long run," Di Marco wrote. Signing just a two-year contract extension last summer and rumored to want to have more of an opportunity to be a legit no. 1 defender, he may chase another situation.
