Série C round features two clashes between Brazilian champions The second round of Série C has an extra attraction, with two matchups featuring Brazilian champions, both on Sunday (12). At Curuzu, Paysandu hosts Brusque at 5 p. m.
Meanwhile, at Brinco de Ouro, Guarani faces Volta Redonda at 6:30 p. m. Paysandu has won Série B twice, in 1991 and 2001.
Brusque, meanwhile, was the national Série D champion in 2019. Guarani, for its part, is the only team currently in the Third Division to have won Brazil’s top-flight league title: that was in 1978, when it had great names such as Careca, Zenon, Capitão, among others. Volta Redonda, which has recently established itself as the fifth force in Rio de Janeiro, won Série D in 2016 and Série C in 2024.
