There's evidence that might have proven one of Michael Jordan's most famous game-worn jerseys is in Wilmington and worth millions.
A jersey connected to Michael Jordan's most important college basketball moment, and worth millions might have been matched with one found in Wilmington. According to a story on the website cllct , which features news on collectibles, a jersey that's been on display at the Cape Fear Museum is the same as the University of North Carolina jersey Jordan wore in the 1982 national championship, where Jordan hit the game-winner against Georgetown. Michael Russo, creator of The Michael Jordan Archive website that researches all things Jordan-worn, said it is a match, according to the cllct story.
While typically using negatives and more to ensure authenticity, according to the cllct story, he only needed to look at the exhibit and the Getty image of Jordan taking the shot. Museum staff haven't confirmed the match, just that an independent collector in Russo has done comparisons based on the photos he has and what was on display at the museum.
