The World No. 8 wasn’t pleased with his quadruple-bogey 9. Masters officials weren’t pleased with his reaction.

Robert MacIntyre needs to post a low number on Friday if he's going to be playing this weekend at the 2026 Masters. He'll also likely be playing the second round at Augusta National on best behavior after garnering some unwanted publicity on Thursday for a outburst on the 15th hole. Making his fourth Masters start, the Scotman's opening round went from good to bad to abysmal after a quadruple-bogey-nine on the famed par 5.

He was already running hot after putting off the green on No. 13, as evidenced by some inappropriate language picked up by the mics. But when MacIntrye was caught giving the middle finger at the water, it appears to have gotten the attention of Augusta National officials.
