Bishop Fitzgerald has all the skills to be a difference maker on a winning team. The Chiefs would be an amazing fit and outcome for him

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to get back to championship form and return to their glory days. They have major holes in their secondary, and they could look to USC Trojan safety Bishop Fitzgerald late in the draft to be a difference maker in the back end. In a recent 5-round mock draft , NFL Network analyst Chad Reuter has USC safety Bishop Fitzgerald landing with the Super Bowl 58 champs, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Reuter has Fitzgerald being selected in the fifth round at pick 169. The Chiefs lost safety Bryan Cook this offseason and two of their best corners. The defense took a big hit, but Alohi Gilman should be a serviceable starter.

In terms of the future, Fitzgerald fits in like a glove. The best asset in the secondary is creating turnovers nowadays for secondary players, and Bishop Fitzgerald is elite at that. He is more than solid in coverage, interception production followed him at each of the destinations he played at in college, and he is a willing tackler.

I think he can be developed under Steve Spagnuolo and end up being one of the biggest steals of this draft and a star for the Chiefs' defense. Bishop Fitzgerald can fit in many destinations and schemes, but with the Chiefs' infrastructure and culture, there is a lot of love about this fit. Steve Spagnuolo has been one of the best at developing young defensive talent.
