Official | Nico Schlotterbeck extends Borussia Dortmund contract, deal includes €10m annual salary and €60m exit clause Nico Schlotterbeck’s long discussed contract extension with Borussia Dortmund has been officially confirmed. Schlotterbeck – who sat on a contract due to expire at the end of next season – has inked new working papers valid through 2031. Schlotterbeck’s Bundesliga outfit confirmed the extension on Friday afternoon.

The details of Nico Schlotterbeck’s new contract Kicker reports that the 26-year-old and the newly reshuffled BVB administrative team have agreed upon an exit clause in the €50-€60m range. The German journal also notes that Schlotterbeck’s new exit clause only allows for moves to certain other clubs; presumably significant European contenders. Kicker also categorically denies rumors that Schlotterbeck will be drawing a €14m annual salary under the deal.

The magazine instead claims that Schlotterbeck will earn a €10m base salary. There are bonuses included, but the German international’s pay will not approach the €14m mark reported by other sources; not even in the event of a Borussia Dortmund title win. GGFN | Peter Weis
