Tennessee sophomore Jackson Herrington debuts at the 2026 Masters.
Tennessee sophomore golfer Jackson Herrington made his major golf tournament debut Thursday at the 2026 Masters at Augusta National Golf Course in Augusta, Georgia. He teed off Thursday alongside 2009 Masters champion Angel Cabrera and Sami Valimaki. The 19-year old left handed sophomore shot a 4-over 76, including a 39 on the front nine and 37 on the back nine.
He recorded four birdies in the opening round of his debut and is tied for 56th place in the 91-player field. Herrington posted the second best score among six amateurs competing in Augusta this week. He finished the opening round tied with Bryson DeChambeau and two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson.
Herrington's opening-round score was better than Patrick Cantlay (+5), Min Woo Lee (+6) and 2023 Masters champion Jon Rahm (+6). Herrington will tee off Friday at 11:27 a. m.
