What's a key ingredient to winning a national title? Being dominant in the trenches. Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman has preached since the beginning that he wants to be a line driven program and the offensive line is taking massive strides forward this offseason to do their part in being a line driven program.

Offensive line coach Joe Rudolph and the offensive staff made the decision to move some pieces around to get the best five with the highest ceilings in the starting lineup. "I've been really pleased with it," Rudolph shared on moving Anthonie Knapp to guard and Will Black to left tackle. "I've been pleased with the way that Anthonie has embraced the intricacies of guard.

It's different. At first, you want to do everything the way that you've done it when playing tackle. You can get away with some things, but eventually it shows up.

"I've been really excited about the way he's been like, ‘I want to learn this, and I want to understand it, and I want to know it better," Rudolph continued. "His working relationship with Will has been really good. The way they communicate before and after each play and the way they continue to grow.
