Apr. 10—LAS VEGAS — The NHL Draft was in The Sphere in Las Vegas just two years ago. Everyone passed on Jake Livanavage.

But they're not overlooking him anymore. Livanavage is expected to soon sign a free-agent NHL contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins, multiple sources have confirmed to the Herald. The Penguins have three regular-season games left: home against Washington on Saturday, at Washington on Sunday and at St.

Louis on Tuesday. Livanavage, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound blue liner from Phoenix, came to UND as an undrafted free agent, but made major impacts on both ends of the ice. He put up at least 25 points in all three seasons at UND and will finish his career with 14 goals and 82 points in 117 games.
