Here's when the roads will be closed during the Boston Marathon and when they open back up.
Over 30,000 runners and even more spectators are set to descend on Massachusetts on April 20, 2026, for the Boston Marathon. It will be the 130th annual race with entrants from all 50 states in the country predicted to participate, the Boston Athletic Association said. The marathon , which is run on Patriots' Day , goes through eight Massachusetts communities, starting in Hopkinton, threading through Framingham and Wellesley, and ending in Boston.
