Semaca completes takeover at Wealdstone

American businessman Nick Semaca holds a 50.1% controlling share of the National League club.

American businessman Nick Semaca has completed a majority takeover of National League club Wealdstone. Semaca, a former director at Leyton Orient, agreed a deal to become the Stones' new owner in October 2025 . However, the deal was not completed during the initial period of exclusivity because of what the club said were delays in signing a new lease at their Grosvenor Vale ground.

Semaca holds a 50. 1% controlling stake in the club, who are 12th in the league table. "In all of the time, none of the things that got me excited about Wealdstone have changed," Semaca said in a club statement .

"That support, that energy, that backing, that feeling of community; all of those were reasons I wanted to join the Wealdstone family and that's the main reason I'm here. " Semaca committed to Wealdstone takeover despite delay New Jersey-born Semaca was formerly a director of consultancy firm McKinsey & Company before moving into sports ownership. He was an investor in the Joliet Slammers, a minor league baseball team, before joining Leyton Orient's board of directors in 2021.

During his time at the club, the O's won the League Two title and reached the League One play-off final. He has also invested in Preuben Munster, who won back-to-back promotions to the 2. Bundesliga, and USA third-division side FC Naples.
