NFL insiders reveal possible plan for Commanders in 2026 draft

The Washington Commanders have to make the most out of their picks in 2026 so it will be interesting to see where the team goes.

We're rapidly approaching the 2026 NFL Draft which mean misinformation and rumors are flying around like crazy. For fans of the Washington Commanders , this will be an exciting draft to watch. The team is trying to prove that the poor 2025 season was a blip and get back to contention in 2026 .

However, due to some trades, the Commanders don't have picks in the second or fourth rounds and only have two picks in the top 100. As a result, the Commanders have to make the most out of each of their picks. Recently, the NFL draft experts at ESPN revealed what they're hearing about each team , including the Commanders, two weeks out from the draft.

John Keim mentioned that the "best-case scenario" for the Commanders would be trading back from No. 7, but this scenario isn't considered likely. "It's doubtful the Commanders will want to move back more than a few spots -- there are players they like who could help them and will be available in the top 12," Keim explained.

"But with only one QB expected to be drafted in the top 10, GM Adam Peters said at the combine that it will be difficult to entice any team to move up. " As Keim mentioned, teams usually want to move up for quarterbacks, and this isn't a deep quarterback class. You never know how the board will fall though, and it seems clear the Commanders would entertain offers.
