Special Teams Took Over in Flyers Disastrous Loss vs. Red Wings
The trend continues for the Philadelphia Flyers (40-27-12), who had the chance to win four-straight games, but instead, were handed a 6-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings (41-29-9) on Thursday at Little Caesars Arena. Alex DeBrincat, Mo Sieder, and Dylan Larkin scored for the Red Wings. Christian Dvorak and Porter Martone scored for the Flyers.
The Red Wings got off to an early 1-0 lead, but the Flyers were able to even the score before the period’s end. Then a second period controlled by special teams took over, and put the Red Wings in a great position going into the third period. Instead of getting back into the game, the Flyers let the Red Wings run away with it.
