As things currently stand, the expectation around the league is for Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson to battle it out. There doesn't seem to be a guaranteed decision made just yet, but the Browns have a few different ways they could go. Frankly, it probably makes more sense to start Sanders at this stage because of what Watson has already shown in Cleveland, but it's also possible that the Browns think that, after his injuries and taking some time away from the game due to them, it could be a saving grace in his career.

Despite that reality, a former Browns legend doesn't believe that's the case and believes that right now, it's Sanders' job to lose. “Jimmy’s lost a lot of money with Deshaun Watson, right? Deshaun hasn’t done a damn thing for this football team,” Hanford Dixon said .

“Let’s just face it, gotta tell Shedeur that he is the starting quarterback now… Right now it’s got to be Shedeur’s job to lose. ” Reports have indicated that the Browns are giving Sanders an opportunity to lose the job, but again, until things play out in training camp and preseason, and even the first few weeks of the season, there will be questions about what that looks like. Right now, though, it seems like even if they draft a quarterback, it'll be one of these two guys playing.
