Hartselle's Lang tapped as new Guntersville football coach

Apr. 9—Hartselle assistant coach Will Lang has been named the new head football coach at Guntersville High School, the school announced Thursday. Lang takes over for Lance Reese, who retired in March after 16 seasons and with a 137-46 record at Guntersville.
Lang has been an assistant coach at Hartselle since 2015, serving as quarterback coach, offensive coordinator and most recently assistant head coach. He has been the team's offensive play caller since 2021, leading an offense that averaged at least 30 points per game each season and more than 40 points per game in 2021 and 2022. Lang is also a former Hartselle quarterback, leading the Tigers to the Class 5A semifinals in 2010 and being named the Decatur Daily Player of the Year.
