Texas basketball: Cam Heide becomes 3rd Longhorn to enter NCAA transfer portal
Cam Heide became the third Texas player to enter the transfer portal Thursday after spending one season with the Longhorns
Forward Cam Heide became the third player for Texas basketball who plans to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal Thursday, according to report from Jonathan Giovny of Draft Express. Heide, who has one remaining year of eligibility, joins forward Nic Codie and guard Simeon Wilcher in declaring their intent to enter the portal. Heide and Wilcher both spent one season at Texas after joining the program last offseason.
Codie played two seasons at Texas after signing with former head coach Rodney Terry in the class of 2024. Heide's departure leaves another hole to fill for Texas coach Sean Miller. Seven of the eight players in the Longhorns' rotation during their run to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 won't return next season.
Guards Tramon Mark, Chendall Weaver and Jordan Pope have used up their eligibility, and forward Dailyn Swain declared for the NBA draft after an All-SEC junior season.
