Kent State transfer Mya Babbitt commits to Iowa State

According to Papillion, Neb. , native Mya Babbitt’s Instagram, the 2026-27 Iowa State women’s basketball team has picked up their first transfer in. The Millard South alumna has one year of eligibility remaining.

In three seasons with the Golden Flashes, Babbitt appeared in 84 games and started in 60 of those games. The 5-foot-8 guard set a Kent State single-season program record with 83 3-point baskets made. In the 2025-26 season, her averages include 16.

1 points per game, 90. 5 percent at the free throw line (86-of-95), four rebounds per game, 1. 7 assists dished out per game and 1.

5 steals per game. Babbitt had a solid prep career with the Patriots. She led Millard South to the Class A state title as a senior, scoring 30 points in championship game and setting all-division record with eight three-pointers in the semifinal game.

She also set school records with 1,733 points and 333 three-point field goals as four-year starter. Babbitt also has the single-game scoring record with 42 points at Millard South. In the game, the Cyclone connected on 10 3-point baskets which tied the Class A record.
