Report: Vikings won't start GM search before the 2026 NFL Draft
It's being reported that the Minnesota Vikings will wait until after the 2026 NFL Draft to conduct a GM search.
The Minnesota Vikings' front office was shaken up late in January when former General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was fired, leaving a major leadership hole. In the interim, the Vikings named Rob Brzezinski as GM until they hire someone to fill the position. While many expected Minnesota to have hired someone by this point, especially with just a few weeks left before the 2026 NFL Draft, this appears not to be the case.
It's being reported that during the NFL's spring meetings last week, Vikings owner Mark Wilf spoke on the structure of this hiring process, and he does not appear to be in a hurry. Full quote from Pro Football Talk via NBCSports. com: via ESPN's Kevin Seifert, that a 'small, tight group' would advise the Wilf family on the decision, with 'input' from coach Kevin OโConnell and chief operating officer Andrew Miller.
A 'third-party' will also participate in the search, although Wilf said the team wonโt use a search firm or a formal consultant. Is this good business? Is it wise for a franchise to head into one of the most important dates on the NFL calendar without a General Manager at the helm?
These are questions fans will likely ask, and we will have to wait and see how things transpire before placing judgment, but this seems to be a questionable decision at best. This article originally appeared on Vikings Wire: Report: Vikings won't make front office changes before the draft
