Bucs go edge rusher in latest CBS Sports 2026 NFL Mock Draft
The Bucs continue to be mocked edge rushers as we get closer to the NFL Draft.
The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh this month, a city that could be where the Bucs select the next star they add to their roster in hopes of righting the proverbial ship. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft. Thankfully, we now have some added context for players now that the scouting combine has come and gone.
CBS Sports' JP Acosta recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going in a with yet another pass rusher. This time, they have the Bucs going with a pass rusher yet again, this time it is Texas A&M's Cashius Howell. Acosta explains the Howell pick, writing, "This feels like a defensive pick for Tampa Bay.
I could see linebacker CJ Allen here, but the pass rush needs help. Howell has historically short arms (30¼ inches), but he's one of the best finishers in the class. His bend and ability to flatten are among the best at the position and should help a Bucs team that finished third in pressure rate but 23rd in sack rate last season.
" Howell is an explosive player off the edge and is someone the Bucs could use in that area. This article originally appeared on Bucs Wire: Cashius Howell projected to be on the Bucs in latest mock draft
