In 2026, the popular tournament to benefit area scholar-athletes is adding a women’s division. “[Geneva graduate] Jordan Vencill, who played last year on a women’s team, was instrumental in starting the women’s bracket,” Andy Juhola, one of the organizers, said.
“Jordan put together three of the four teams, and the fourth team is from Fairport. ” Vencill said she started messaging players from the past couple of years to see if there was interest in forming a women’s division. “Everyone I messaged mentioned other women they played with in the past, and that kind of helped grow the teams we have,” she said.
“We have a total of 20 women representing the county, and I am super-ecstatic about it. ” Jess Vormelker, Hailee Aguinaga, Annie Johnston and Kennadie Mullen are among the women scheduled to play. “Women’s basketball has been growing tremendously over the past couple years around the country,” Vencill said.
