Dodgers Increase Shohei Ohtani Bobblehead Supply for ‘Greatest Game’ Night
Friday night is the first Shohei Ohtani bobblehead night of 2026, and while demand will surely be high, the Los Angeles Dodgers plan to have a bobblehead for just about everyone. The number of bobbleheads available is going up by a significant amount, from 40,000 for previous giveaways to 54,000 for “Shohei Ohtani ‘Greatest Game’ Bobblehead Part 1,” as reported by Edward Lewis of the California Post . Given Dodger Stadium’s capacity of 56,000, that’s a bobblehead for nearly all in attendance.
They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, though, so don’t wait too long. Even if they still have a bobblehead for you, you may have to wait in quite a long line to get one . After perhaps the best single-game performance for a player in baseball history , it was only right that the Dodgers commemorate the occasion. That performance in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series was a showcase in two-way dominance, with Ohtani hitting three home runs at the plate and striking out 10 over six scoreless innings. “It was the sort of game that happens in comic books, not real life — and it was a game that completed a championship series sweep and sent Los Angeles to its second consecutive World Series,” Jeff Passan wrote for ESPN .
“It was the kind of night that leaves patrons elated they saw it and also just a little ruined because they know they’ll never see anything like it again. Everyone was a prisoner, captive to perhaps the greatest individual game in the quarter-million or so played over the last century and a half. ” Given that level of excellence, it’s only right that the Dodgers honor Ohtani with two different bobbleheads.
As implied by the “Part 1” in the name, Friday’s giveaway only depicts Ohtani’s offensive explosion. “Part 2,” honoring the pitching, is coming in July.
