Despite losing Monday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers, the Red Sox rebounded to win back-to-back games at Fenway Park and take the series, ending their first homestand of the year on a high note . It was Boston's first series win since last September, when the Red Sox took two of three from the Detroit Tigers at Fenway in their final series of the regular season. Boston had lost its last four series, starting with last year's AL Wild Card Series against the New York Yankees and continuing through its first three series of 2026.
Similarly, it was also the Red Sox's first time winning consecutive games since last September (excluding spring training), when they won their season finale against the Tigers and Game 1 of the Wild Card Series at Yankee Stadium. In other words, Boston has real momentum for the first time this year, as its first two wins were both immediately followed by losing streaks. The Red Sox will try to maintain that momentum and extend their winning streak following Thursday's off day.
They kick off their six-game road trip in St. Louis on Friday behind Connelly Early , who's off to a promising start this year with a 2. 89 ERA over his first two starts.
