Highlights from Texas A&M's 10th spring practice on Thursday

Here are the best highlights from Texas A&M's 10th spring practice on Thursday afternoon.

Texas A&M's 10th spring practice on Thursday afternoon was more of the same for the 2026 Aggie offense, led by starting quarterback Marcel Reed's return for his third full season, and equipped with one of the deepest wide receiver rotations, which now includes Alabama transfer, Isaiah Horton, and blue-chip freshman Aaron Gregory, who have continued to stand out this spring. It's hard to know how much progress the Aggies have made over the last month, but it's clear that the path towards making it back to the College Football Playoff for the second consecutive season is if Reed can fix his footwork, ball placement, and focus on making the safe pass to move the chains instead of forcing the ball into tight windows. On defense, several newcomers from the transfer portal, including former Northwestern edge Anto Saka, haven't made the "splash" plays some were expecting, but on Thursday, freshman defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright caught the eye of every media member in attendance, while junior cornerback Jordan Shaw, who is competing with Bryce Anderson for the starting nickel job, grabbed his first interception this spring while covering star wide recevier Mario Craver.

After Texas A&M's first padded spring practice, coach Mike Elko stated that his team was "an awful long way to go to be a good football team," which continues to be the case, and while that can be said for most teams this early in the offseason, Thursday's practice was another step in the right direction.
