Xavier wing Gabriel Pozzato to return to Musketeers

Pozzato never suited up for Xavier after suffering a season-ending knee injury in the summer.

Xavier University wing Gabriel Pozzato is returning to the Musketeers' men's basketball team, per an announcement April 9 via Twitter/X . Along with Jovan Milicevic, who will stay with the Musketeers , Pozzato was one of the top candidates to return after missing the entire 2026 season. Pozzato suffered a torn meniscus in August that sidelined him for the year.

Pozzato returned to practice in a limited capacity toward the end of the regular season but hasn't appeared in a game for the Musketeers. The 6-foot-7 wing was one of Xavier's biggest additions in the transfer portal last offseason after a standout season in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). With Evansville, Pozzato ranked 10th in the MVC in scoring at 14.
