Formula 2, along with Formula 1, had its planned events in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia this month canceled due to the conflict in the Middle East. Championship organizers have been striving to seek a remedy and have now announced that it will visit North America for the first time in its history.
Formula 2 will join Formula 1 in Miami, and will subsequently visit Montreal three weeks later. The development gives Colton Herta a round on home territory in his rookie Formula 2 campaign, at the Miami International Autodrome, though the inclusion of Montreal ostensibly rules him out of rumored tilt at the Indianapolis 500, as the two events have a date clash. โWe are now going to Miami and Montreal for the second and third rounds of the 2026 season, respectively,โ said Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel.

Itโs something we have been wanting to do for a long time, and it enables us to ensure weโre back racing as quickly as possible.
โIt will be a great new challenge for our teams and our drivers, who have all welcomed the news with enthusiasm. I am certain that the quality of racing will bring a lot of excitement to the fans and to everyone attending both Grands Prix. โ
