Oklahoma City chosen to be expansion site for UFL
The UFL will be expanding to the Sooner State in 2028!
Oklahomans love football and will be getting even more of it in 2028. The United Football League is expanding to the Sooner State in the spring of 2028. The unnamed Oklahoma City team will play in the to-be-constructed downtown multipurpose stadium.
“We’re excited to be part of Oklahoma and bring back a pro spring football league to a city and state that loves football,” UFL co-owner Mike Repole told The Oklahoman . “To me, this is the perfect market for a UFL spring football team. ” Currently, there are eight teams in the UFL, a league formed through a merger of the XFL and the USFL.
With Dallas, St. Louis, and Houston, there are opportunities for rivalries to be formed in the expansion.
