Doubs is a very talented player who was perhaps held back a little bit by the Green Bay Packers offensive philosophy. The Packers like to spread the ball, but on the Patriots, he could fill a true No. 1 receiver role, as Diggs did.
He has never been a true No. 1 in the NFL, but Patriots legend Julian Edelman thinks he is more than capable. "He's a professional," Edelman told Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller on Saturday.
"I'm really excited to see him with Drake. He's got a lot in his route tree. He's consistent.
And I think bringing a player with that professionalism in that room, I think it's going to be great. " Doubs has 2,424 career regular-season receiving yards. His career high in receiving yards for a single season is 724, set last year.
