Collin Chandler could still return to Kentucky Basketball, per report

Yahoo Sports

Could Collin Chandler end up back in Lexington for next season?

Collin Chandler is leaving Kentucky Basketball for BYU, right? Probably , but it’s not a done deal quite yet. According to On3’s Joe Tipton , Chandler is keeping open the option to return to Kentucky, depending on how talks with BYU go in the coming days.

While that sounds nice, BYU is still expected to land Chandler when it’s all said and done, and for good reason. Not only are the Cougars reportedly offering Chandler in the neighborhood of $3 million, but they’re very close to home for the Utah native. Oh, and if you missed it, BYU’s roster is undergoing a mass exodus, as just about everyone with remaining eligibility is entering the transfer portal, while AJ Dybantsa is expected to enter the NBA Draft.

That means the Cougars have plenty of cap space to work with, so that’s part of why they’re making a desperate play for Chandler. Don’t get your hopes up on Chandler returning to Kentucky, but it’s not completely off the table just yet. Sources tell @On3 that BYU is the frontrunner for Kentucky transfer Collin Chandler, however he has left the door open to a possible return to Kentucky depending on how conversations go in the coming days.
