Hurricanes land 2028 quarterback Knox Annis

Days after landing a commitment from 2027 quarterback Israel Abrams, the Hurricanes secured a pledge from a 2028 quarterback, as well. Jacksonville Mandarin High quarterback Knox Annis committed to Miami on Thursday afternoon, announcing his decision on social media. Annis is the first member of the Hurricanes’ 2028 recruiting class.

Annis is rated a three-star prospect by Rivals. He is not currently rated by 247Sports and does not have a composite ranking. Annis also held offers from Florida, Florida State, Auburn and Tennessee, among others.

Annis, who attends the same high school former UM quarterback Carson Beck attended, played in 11 games as a freshman in 2024. He completed 43 percent of his passes that season for 1,349 yards and nine touchdowns but threw eight interceptions. The young quarterback improved in 2025, completing 60 percent of his passes.

He had 2,203 passing yards with 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Annis is also a solid runner, averaging 13. 4 yards per carry on 11 rushes in 2024 and 9.

7 yards per carry on 34 carries last year.
