Step up to the counter, take your numbered ticket and wait in line as the bidding for Braylon Mullins begins. That is what UConn basketball coach Dan Hurley equated the situation to for the former Greenfield-Central star, 2025 Indiana Mr. Basketball and March Huskies' hero.
Mullins, a 6-foot-6 freshman, hit the biggest shot of UConn's season, a game-winner to beat Duke and send Connecticut to its third Final Four in four seasons. His teammates saw growth in the days after, and the maturation of Mullins throughout the year. Throughout his first college season, Mullins steadily grew as a NBA prospect .
But it seems the jury is still out on where he may fall should he enter the 2026 NBA Draft. Some view him as a top-10 pick, others a late-round pick or a mid-round pick. He has time to decide.
Hurley, meanwhile, faced the grim reality of trying to build a roster for the 2026-27 season in short order. He walked off the court at Lucas Oil Stadium with Solo Ball and Alex Karaban at his side roughly 35 minutes before the transfer portal opened. The emotions of a season ending, coming oh so close to a third national championship in four years.
