The Red Sox's pitching staff did a great job in the final two games of the series against the Brewers. They held the Brewers to two runs over the final two games of the series and shut them out on Wednesday. The Brewers have a great offense, and the Red Sox's offense had been scuffling, so the pitching staff needed to deliver.
After the win on Wednesday, Cora acknowledged the stellar pitching, but may have also just put more pressure on them. He noted that they have to pitch well to make it to October and be even better than they have been at times. "We didn't start off the year the way we wanted," Cora said after Wednesday's win.
"If you start breaking it down, in Cincinnati, we had the lead halfway through the game, and we didn't finish it. In Houston, we got demolished. That's the reality of it.
