Past meets present (again) as Braves introduce new City Connect uniforms
Here are even more and clearer images of the new City Connect uniforms for the Braves!
Yesterday was a momentous day in Braves franchise history: #715 for Hammerin’ Hank. I will never forget being moved by all of the little details of the first City Connects that honored Aaron’s legacy – the embroidered “Keep Swinging” on the hat, the Art-Deco crown on the sleeve, the 715 scoreboard design on the inside collar. A day after the 52nd anniversary of Hank breaking Babe Ruth’s record, we will flip the calendar from 1974 to the 1980’s.
And remix it a little bit for the modern age, of course. If you’re not at the City Connect launch party at the Battery today , here are even more looks at the new jerseys on sale today. The Braves will don the 2.
0s this weekend vs. the Guardians and every Saturday home game this season. The Braves have foregone detailed descriptions for the design choices on the website, but the elements of note are: THE JERSEY: Powder blues make their triumphant return, featuring “Atlanta” across the chest outlined in red and a v-neck pullover style (they note that the players chose the v-neck, citing comfort and performance).
Names and numbers are in blue, numbers are white outlined with red. Opposite the polarizing Quikrete logo is the ATL sleeve patch, designed to evoke the old TBS logo. THE CAP: The cap is powder blue with a blue brim and red piping.
