Candace Parker discussed the state of Lady Vols basketball and the Final Four confrontation between Geno Auriemma and Dawn Staley on her podcast.
Lady Vols basketball legend Candace Parker shared her thoughts on the current state of her alma mater during an episode of her podcast with Aliyah Boston on April 8. Parker and Boston, a former star at South Carolina, talked about the number of players entering the transfer portal on "Post Moves," and Boston brought up the mass exodus of Lady Vols. All eight of Tennessee's possible returners entered the portal following coach Kim Caldwell's second season.
Five-star forward Oliviyah Edwards also was released from her signing with Tennessee. Edwards and Parker have been connected over the years through Edwards' viral dunking and signing with Adidas as an NIL athlete. "It's difficult, I'm not going to lie, because you pour so much of your energy and heart, and now I'm a fan, so I'm really a fanatic," Parker said.
"I want to be around the fans at the Final Four, like you were able to be with South Carolina. I'm anxious to want to have that feeling again. It's been a long time since we've been back to the Final Four.
