Former Trojan receiver produces dominant showing in the UFL
Former USC receiver Tyler Vaughns could find his way back to the NFL, at least if he maintains his elite play in the UFL
The 2016 USC Trojans football roster was filled with many NFL players. Sam Darnold, Ronald Jones, and many pro receivers represented USC a decade ago. Both Michael Pittman Jr.
and Juju Smith-Schuster were on that squad. There was a Trojan freshman receiver at the time who is making noise elsewhere. Former USC Trojan receiver Tyler Vaughns went nuclear in the UFL league on Tuesday night.
Tyler Vaughns posted 11 catches, had 146 yards receiving, and 3 touchdowns. Vaughns had his fingerprints all over the Dallas Renegades' 31-15 win over the St. Louis Battlehawks.
If you are familiar with USC football, a performance like this from Vaughns is not surprising. In 2017 at USC, Vaughns had 57 catches, 809 yards receiving, and 5 touchdowns. He then had his best season in 2019, posting 74 catches, for 912 yards receiving, and 6 touchdowns.
