Taylor had struggled with penalties throughout his tenure in Kansas City, leading to constant criticism from fans and analysts. During the 2024 season, he played with a partially torn meniscus, which severely affected his effectiveness at right tackle.

Taylor appeared in 12 regular-season games but battled injuries again in 2025. A severe elbow/triceps injury cost him multiple weeks of the season. In Taylor's first season with the Chiefs, he contributed to the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers, 25–22.
