Indiana men’s basketball schedules visit with Notre Dame transfer Markus Burton

The Hoosiers are reportedly set to host their first transfer portal visitor of the 2025-26 offseason.

Markus Burton, a junior guard at Notre Dame, will visit the program in Bloomington starting this weekend after a visit to Houston, per Tipton.

He’s spent the past three seasons with the Fighting Irish, playing only ten games in 2025-26 before suffering a left ankle injury in December that ultimately proved to be season ending. Prior to that injury, he averaged 18. 5 points, 2.

8 rebounds and 3. 7 assists per game while shooting 48. 9% from the field and 30.

6% from 3-point range. Burton is originally from Mishawaka, Indiana, and played at Penn High School where he won the state’s Mr. Basketball award in 2023.
