Indy has completed a virtual interview with North Carolina State cornerback Devon Marshall ahead of the NFL Draft, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson .

At 5’11”, 194 lbs, Marshall’s stature doesn’t wow you, yet his statistical output in two years as a key contributor for the Wolfpack suggests that he’s nothing to scoff at. Devon Marshall totaled 50 tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and a nation-high 16 passes broken up in his Senior season, earning an 86.

1 grade from Pro Football Focus — the 22nd best grade among all 897 qualifying cornerbacks. However, his 4. 24 relative athletic score is the opposite of what this regime has typically coveted.

That, coupled with a deep cornerback room already in place, is enough to question just how much interest is actually there. Still, general manager Chris Ballard and Co. have recently begun deviating from the norm, so no longer are the days when subpar athletes are immediately counted out as potential Colts fits.
