The NFL's labor agreement with the officials expires May 31.

The NFL is preparing for the possibility of replacement officials, and it coudl become a reality very soon. The labor agreement between the league and the NFL Referees Association expires May 31. According to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero , the league informed teams that replacement officials will be trained in May so they can be prepared to visit teams during their offseason practices in OTAs and minicamps.

Also per Pelissero , the league asked teams to send their OTAs and mandatory minicamp schedules by April 22 so the league can make assignments beginning June 1 should there be no labor agreement in place. The NFL says it is committed to getting a new agreement in place with the referees. So when the Cardinals hold their final OTAs and minicamp, they could see training replacement officials in those practices.
