2026 NBA mock draft: Philadelphia 76ers select Morez Johnson Jr.

Yahoo Sports

The Philadelphia 76ers select Michigan forward Morez Johnson Jr. in the latest 2026 NBA mock draft.

At the moment, the Philadelphia 76ers have their eyes on looking to lock up a playoff spot with three games to play, but it doesn't hurt to look ahead to the offseason and see who they could potentially add to the roster. The Sixers will have a first-round pick via the Houston Rockets thanks to the Jared McCain trade to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the deadline. That selection will be in the 21-to-26 range as the Rockets are having a successful season on the floor, but this is believed to be a deep draft.

The Sixers will likely find a player who can help them right away and be in the rotation at this stage in their roster construction. A mock draft put together by CBS Sports has the Sixers selecting Michigan forward Morez Johnson Jr. with pick No.

21: Johnson continues to gain momentum among NBA decision-makers with his size, physicality and increasing two-way versatility. Philadelphia badly needs some center depth behind Joel Embiid. Johnson could not only provide that but also an enforcer type to play alongside him if and when they elect to go with bigger lineups.

If Johnson is the pick, the Sixers will be able to live with it. He is a gritty forward who provides a lot of athleticism and toughness to a bench unit that could use a boost. Philadelphia could probably use a guard at this pick, but when considering where its pick falls in the draft order, big men and athleticism on the wings comes to the forefront.
