Shane Drohan made his MLB debut against the Red Sox two months after Boston sent him to the Milwaukee Brewers in a multi-player trade involving Caleb Durbin. The 27-year-old couldn't cap off the ultimate Revenge Game. Drohan started strong by tossing two scoreless frames at Fenway Park.

He fittingly recorded his first career strikeout against Durbin, whose struggles continued with another hitless game. However, the wheels fell off for Drohan in the third. Boston chased the southpaw out of the game by scoring three runs in a lengthy third inning.

Drohan finished the Wednesday matinee with three hits, four walks and three runs allowed over 2 2/3 frames. The Red Sox secured their first back-to-back wins of the season with a 5-0 victory behind 6 1/3 scoreless frames from Sonny Gray. After permitting just one baserunner through two innings, Drohan lost command in the third.
