Vikings land secondary help from latest CBS Sports NFL Mock Draft
In a new mock draft from CBS Sports, the Vikings land some secondary help for Brian Flores.
The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh this month, a city that could be where the Vikings select the next star they add to their roster in hopes of righting the proverbial ship. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft. Thankfully, we now have some added context for players now that the scouting combine has come and gone.
CBS Sports' JP Acosta recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going in a different direction since this is a mock draft in which he shares what he would do. As such, the Vikings land a cornerback they haven't been attached to for several weeks, Avieon Terrell. Acosta explains the Terrell pick, writing, "Avieon Terrell is a Brian Flores corner through and through, and one of my favorite players in this draft class.
Despite being undersized at 5-foot-11 and 186 pounds, Terrell plays much bigger than his size as a tackler and at the catch point, and he breaks on the ball extremely well. He could be an even better nickel than outside corner, but in Minnesota, with Byron Murphy Jr. and James Pierre, he can be a versatile matchup piece Flores uses as a havoc creator.
" The Clemson cornerback has some fans and some downers on his potential, but it seems he is someone who Brian Flores would be excited to have. He has shown throughout his career that he can develop young cornerbacks, so someone as talented as Terrell would be a fun watch for fans and the team alike.
